As an Entrepreneur starting up and running your own business, burnout is a huge possibility. It is important to balance work, life, and fitness to ensure your continued success.

David recently chatted to Leanne Spencer, Founder of the BodyShot Performance and Author of the book Remove the Guesswork, about how he balances work and personal life and how his decision to reach his health goals has enabled him to take better control of his health, personal life, and business career.

Leanne started the Bodyshot Personal Training in June 2012 with the intent to run her own business, help and empower other people to take control of their health and doing something that provided her with a structure for healthy living. Leanne runs the podcast series called Remove the Guesswork: health, fitness and wellbeing for busy professionals for busy professionals who want to improve their health, fitness and wellbeing using the latest science and technology to cut through the noise and get better results, faster.

What David has found works best for him:

  • Being aware and attuned to what’s good and what your body responds to
  • Reducing consumption of foods which prove to be bad for your body
  • Substituting vegetables for fruit
  • Replacing processed ingredients with natural ingredients
  • Walking regularly and sticking to his fitness routine
  • Getting fresh air and natural sunlight
  • Meditation

Staying focused on all the above, noting that the small things he changes in his diet can make a difference, and not allowing the up’s and down’s of life to overwhelm him, has resulted in less burnout and more energy for David. It gives him the clarity and ability to stay focused on his business for extended periods of time!
