Our Origin Story

The seeds of Add then Multiply were sown in 1983, when David began his career, training to be a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse (now part of PWC). The story takes you from Vancouver, Canada to Zurich, Switzerland and London, UK and includes travels throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Meet The Team

David B Horne, Founder and CEO

David is a right-brained Chartered Accountant, an award-winning author, TEDx speaker, entrepreneur and CFO. He started his career with PWC in Canada and moved with PWC to Switzerland in 1987. He moved to London in 1993 and since 2002 has worked exclusively with entrepreneurs. During his career he has raised more than £110 million in funding and bought or sold 28 companies. Fun fact: David can drink a pint of beer while standing on his head.

Taryn April, Head of Operations

Taryn started off as David’s assistant in 2017 and has grown into the role of Operations Manager of Add then Multiply, running the internal operations of the business and managing the team. As a certified AAT Bookkeeper, Taryn also provides bookkeeping services to our clients. Fun fact: Taryn and David have been working together since 2017 and have never met in person!

Marcus Jones, Integrator

Marcus is a highly experienced Commercial Director with over 20 years of leadership in sales, technology, and operational strategy. Known for his innovative and collaborative approach, Marcus has worked with start-ups and established businesses, driving commercial success across sectors.

His unique strength lies in his ability to balance data-driven insights with strategic intuition, helping organisations navigate emerging trends and commercial challenges.

His leadership style is grounded in empathy and inclusivity, empowering teams to achieve their full potential while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction. Fun fact: Marcus has completed a stand-up comedy course!

Ying Lee, Financial Controller

Ying brings more than 20 years of experience in the finance department. She began her career as an auditor, but soon discovered her passion for collaborating closely with business owners and corporate organisations to develop transactions and reports that support informed financial decision-making.

Her extensive involvement in change transformation initiatives across various organisations has enhanced her understanding and appreciation for the importance of implementing controls within work processes.

Ying joined Add then Multiply in 2024. Outside work, she enjoys propagating plants from cuttings, embodying the philosophy of “add then multiply”.

Jacob Furness, Graphic Designer and Digital Marketer

Jacob joined Add then Multiply in 2021 under the UK government’s Kickstarter Scheme. He designs visual media for client presentations and for our own use, and he manages the company’s social media platforms content. Fun fact: Jacob has more Star Wars Lego than sense.

Letitia April, Personal Assistant

Letitia joined Add then Multiply in 2023. She is the quiet behind the scenes guardian of schedules. She finds satisfaction in bringing a bit of stability to the day-to-day workings of our organisation. Fun fact: Letitia loves learning random trivia and unusual facts from various fields. It started with the “Did you know” Chappies bubble gum wrappers.
